II in One Contractors is a 37-year-old minority-owned business headquartered in Chicago. Founded in 1984 by Oliver B. Fifer and Robert J. McGee, Jr., the company has emerged as one of the premier minority-owned businesses in the area. Mr. McGee serves as President and Treasurer of the firm and Mr. Fifer as Chairman and Secretary. II in One Contractors offers general contracting, construction management, and design-build services coupled with the ability to deliver production through its own workforces in the areas of concrete, rebar placement and carpentry. Our organization operates through two companies: II in One Rebar, Inc. and II in One Contractors, Inc.
II in One is committed to the development of our employees. The vast majority of our management team has risen through the ranks from apprenticeship level to now hold positions as project managers, superintendents and foremen. We do this by fostering an atmosphere of learning and providing a training ground for motivated individuals. We have a longstanding practice of engaging residents in local neighborhoods of active projects to hire for the current project and establishing relationships leading to long-term hiring pipelines. One of our key commitments is being a force for positive change to overcome joblessness caused by lack of opportunity and education.
As a minority-owned business, we pride ourselves on operating under the auspices of being the contractor that implements value, fairness, and integrity. Over the last three decades, we have experienced substantial growth in our core business, evolving from a subcontractor into a present-day General Contractor on selective projects. As President, Mr. McGee is responsible for business development, project estimating and project management. He oversees all of II In One Contractors, Inc., projects. During his 48 years in construction, Mr. McGee has served as project manager, estimator, engineer and superintendent and is currently operations manager. Mr. McGee has been with II in One for 37 years.

As Chairman, Mr. Fifer is responsible for overseeing the board and the office staff. He has had over 40 plus years of business experience as well as construction experience. He assists and monitors purchasing, payroll, trade union relationships and meeting minority goals.

Mr. DuBose serves as a project manager/architect, has been charged with the following responsibilities: scheduling, budgeting, feasibility studies, preparing pay applications, subcontractor coordination, submittal preparation, material procurement, change orders, identifying work scope, issuing field coordination sketches and creating punch-lists. He has been involved in the construction industry for 23 years and has been with II in One Contractors for 15 years.

Mr. Cooney has over 35 years of construction experience. During his career he’s had the responsibility for the planning, execution and management of all aspects associated with the projects assigned. He has been the project manager of several complex, high profile public sector projects with compressed schedules.
